The city acts on violations immediately without prior notice — it will clear the walk, bill the property owner for the actual cost, and can issue a citation carrying a fine of up to $500.

The same ordinance prohibits depositing snow from private property — including parking lots — into any city street or alley, also carrying fines up to $500.
